A Guide to Nearby RV Destinations
One of the best things about living in Las Vegas? You're surrounded by some of the most stunning landscapes in the country — and they're all within a few hours' drive in your motorcoach. Whether you're a weekend warrior or planning a week-long excursion, here are our favorite RV-friendly destinations near the valley.
Red Rock Canyon — 30 Minutes
You don't even have to leave the city limits to find breathtaking desert scenery. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area features a 13-mile scenic drive, world-class hiking, and stunning red sandstone formations. While overnight camping options are limited, the BLM land nearby offers boondocking opportunities for self-contained motorcoaches.
Valley of Fire State Park — 1 Hour
Nevada's oldest and largest state park is a must-visit for any RV owner. The Atlatl Rock Campground has spaces that can accommodate coaches up to 40 feet, with electric hookups available on a first-come basis. The vibrant red rock formations, petroglyphs, and desert wildlife make this a photographer's paradise.
Lake Mead & Boulder Beach — 45 Minutes
Boulder Beach Campground on the shores of Lake Mead offers full RV access with dump stations nearby. Spend your days boating, fishing, or simply relaxing by the water. The drive from Las Vegas is quick and easy, making it perfect for spontaneous weekend trips.
Zion National Park — 2.5 Hours
Zion is consistently rated one of the top national parks in the country, and for good reason. The Watchman Campground offers electric hookups for RVs up to 40 feet. Hike Angels Landing, explore The Narrows, or take the shuttle through the canyon. Pro tip: visit in spring or fall to avoid the summer crowds.
Death Valley National Park — 2 Hours
Despite the name, Death Valley is full of life — and incredible landscapes. Furnace Creek Campground accommodates large motorcoaches, and the park offers everything from sand dunes to salt flats to mountain passes. Visit between October and April for comfortable temperatures.
Grand Canyon South Rim — 4.5 Hours
No bucket list is complete without the Grand Canyon. Trailer Village RV Park offers full hookups just steps from the South Rim. With 277 miles of carved canyon to explore, you could visit a dozen times and never see it all. Plan ahead — reservations fill up months in advance during peak season.
Laughlin, NV — 1.5 Hours
For a more relaxed vibe, head south to Laughlin along the Colorado River. Several casinos offer RV parking with full hookups, and the river provides opportunities for jet skiing, kayaking, and fishing. It's the perfect low-key weekend getaway.
